the Cacing Diaries #30- 1st Birthday party (the cakes)
We were expecting 50 kids and more than twice that number of adults so we had to be smart with the cakes we chose. Dessert crazy that I am, we did not want the sweets to run out. The easy fix was to order cupcakes. Rainbow colored cupcakes in fudgy chocolate are favorites of most people so we ordered them at Fresco Bakeshop in Cebu. Spreading them out on the pastry table even created a bonanza of colors which essentially became the centerpiece onstage.

For the sophisticates, we had a round dome of Calypso from Vanille (reviewed here). This was our dessert cake last Christmas and we were sure that our guests would enjoy the meringue and mango spongecake delight. We were not mistaken.

As concession to our one year old, we gave Cacing a doll cake. As our guests already had their fill of the confectionery treats, we ended up taking the doll cake home. Cacing loved its chocolatey goodness and so did we.
